  • Jennifer Hanlon, PhD, MSPAS, PA-C, MBA

    PARTNER - CLINICAL LEAD

    Dr. Jennifer Hanlon is a Partner in our Clinical Services serving as a First Assist in Cardiovascular Surgery. Dr. Hanlon received her B.S. in biology from Cornell University and then her PhD in Biomedical Science where her thesis focused on the efficacy of artificial devices as a bridge to transplant for heart failure patients. After obtaining her PhD, Dr. Hanlon knew she wanted to pursue a career in clinical care. After evaluating a number of options, she chose to attend the Physician Assistant program at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. During her clinical rotations, Dr. Hanlon immediately found her calling in the Operating Room. After finishing with her MSPAS, she went obtained a spot in Dartmouth’s prestigious Post-Graduate Physician Assistant Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship program - an immersive 12-month program where she operated alongside some of the world’s most renowned cardiothoracic surgeons across multiple spectrums. She also obtained her MBA from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business. She spent 6 years as an Operative Physician Assistant at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic where she found a spot on the Aortic Surgery team. She eventually ascended to Lead Surgical PA in the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery.

    In late-2018, she moved to the Denver metroplex and after contracting with several institutions as a CV Surgical PA, she decided to start her own practice. After a year of building her business plan, she obtained Series A funding from a local venture capital firm to build out the infrastructure, including her office space. She has worked tirelessly not only as a Surgical Clinician but also in recruiting a team of leaders who have transformed her initial idea into a thriving partnership.

  • Neha Mohan, DMSc, MSPAS, PA-C

    PARTNER - CLINICAL LEAD

    Dr. Neha Mohan is a CVSA Partner who leads the practice’s clinical development. Dr. Mohan obtained her B.S. in Biology from Stanford University and then obtained her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB). After obtaining her MPAS, she went on to obtain her Doctorate in Medical Science (DMSc) from A.T. Still University (ATSU).

    Dr. Mohan completed her surgical training through Johns Hopkins Cardiothoracic Surgery PA Residency program where she got a wide-breadth of experience in core Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular surgery. After completion of the program, Dr. Mohan was offered a full-time position at Johns Hopkins as an Operative PA in Cardiothoracic Surgery and as a Lecturer in Surgery at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Mohan became part of Johns Hopkins Aortic Center of Excellence and was a team lead for APPs in Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgery.

    In 2019, Dr. Mohan was offered the Lead APP role at UCHealth - Anschutz where she helped develop surgical skills curriculum, lectured in the department of surgery and maintained a clinical operative role in high-risk cardiothoracic surgery.

    As part of her role as Clinical Development Lead, Dr. Mohan not only a highly sought after first-assist for our affiliated institutions, she also focuses on simulation lab facilitation and focuses on didactic skills development. Dr. Mohan is focused on our clinicians’ growth in high-stakes operative care. Her philosophy of care is around operative resuscitation, continuum-of-care, and standards of practice for the Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant - both in the Operating Room and CVICU.

  • Britton Woods, DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC, RN, MBA

    MANAGING PARTNER - CORPORATE STRATEGY & STRATEGIC GROWTH

    Britton Woods was a CVSA Partner and leads the practice’s Corporate Strategy and Strategic Growth areas. Dr. Woods was born and raised in Atherton, CA. She obtained dual degrees in Architecture and Nursing (BSN) from the University of Pennsylvania. She began her career as a Perioperative Nurse at HUP. She eventually returned to UPenn for her Master’s Degree with a focus in Acute Care and her DNP in Nursing Informatics. During her post-graduate education, she obtained her MBA from the prestigious Wharton School of Business.

    After business school, Dr. Woods joined a Private Equity firm in the Silicon Valley where she led the Healthcare acquisitions group and closed a number of deals for the purchase of Physician Practice Groups. She eventually transitioned to the Portfolio Management side where she grew 4 of her previous PPG acquisitions into a $2 billion platform with over 700 specialty physicians and 450 advanced practice providers serving over 50 institutions through California, Texas, Oregon and Washington. She became a Senior Partner in 2017.

    In 2020, Dr. Woods began working with a leading banker on the diligence efforts to acquire a stake in CVSA. After closing the deal, Dr. Woods agreed to join CVSA as its Senior Partner and leader of Business Development as part of her Firm’s “Entrepreneur-in-Residence” program. As part of her role, Dr. Woods leverages both her business acumen, clinical nursing experience, and healthcare financial background to continue building out CVSA’s platform. The first five years of her plan focuses on clinical affiliations, establishing physical locations in two additional states and bringing on more partners to serve as a critical link in the Cardiovascular Surgery value chain. She hopes to extend the breadth of surgical services to include Neurosurgery and Trauma Surgery - both accretive specialties with a need for high-skilled and experienced APPs to support operative excellence at leading institutions seeking to increase case volume and breadth of capabilities.

    Dr. Woods’ empathy comes from her own battle with Marfan’s Syndrome, requiring an extensive open aortic surgery with severe complications.

    Dr. Woods is currently battling MFS and is scheduled for her 3rd major open aortic surgery due to complications from a previous aneurysm repair.
